I haven't made this yet but am not a huge fan of canned bisciuts (will use them in a pinch if necessary). I will be taking a little extra time & using the Pillsbury frozen biscuits (or Bisquick or my homemade ones. I'll also be using Simply Potatoes. Any recipe that calls for frozen hash browns gets those! Definitely will be trying this one though!

While I have not made this yet, I would imagine Simply Potatoes would be a good option for the hash browns in this recipe. I use them for many breakfast casserole dishes and they have several different flavors for variations. They are usually found in the refrigerated section near the eggs.

JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW- YES YOU NEED TO COOK THE FROZEN HASH BROWNS FIRST-ANY BRAND WILL DO- I USED THE COUNTRY HASH BROWN POTATOES NOT THE SHREDS- AND USED POWDER COUNTRY GRAVY- COOK THAT FIRST ALSO- MINE ALWAYS COMES OUT PERFECT

This was an epic fail! I dont know if i was supposed to use frozen hashbrowns but thats all i could find premade, so the potatoes were cold, and at 14 min the biscuits were not even cook a little bit! Cooked another 10 min and finally had to flip the biscuits so they would not be doughy! Really disappointed because this was for a pot luck :( I will try again with my own variations.
