No mixing of filling ingredients. Just place apples in crust and sprinkle spices, in order, on top; finish with smoothing sour cream over the top.

I'm confused....step 3 mentions add filling and bake but there's no filling listed on the ingredients list. Reading kohles review, I'm assuming pie filling should be on the list. Please help, I really wanna make this. Thanks!

Am I missing something.....Step 3 says "Add filling and bake using filling directions." but there's not an ingredient on the list for filling. I then read kohles review and she/he mentioned pie filling. So am I to add apple pie filling to the ingredients list?

Great recipe!!! Will be using it again! I did put in 5 apples instead of 4, because the apples cook down pretty good!

Thank you so much!!! I wish that I had had this recipe 40 years ago!!!! Did the apple filling--Delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then did blueberry canned pie filling with a crumb topping---again so delicious!!! The baking time was right on. The sour cream did NOT get burned on the apple. I used granny smith apples....don't be skimpy!! I did use an 8" glass cake dish instead of the 9" pie pan. If you try this you will not be sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy eating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sour cream topping becomes crusty and brown as it bakes.
