A neighbor's Mom made these when I was a child and I loved them. When I requested the recipe from her many years later as an adult she refused and said it was a "secret family recipe". I recall she was always selfish and continued to be this way as an adult it seems. Thank goodness for the internet and folks who like to share. I can now enjoy these again!!!!!!

My mother made these every year at Christmas (other times too, but mostly at Christmas). My sisters and I would come home from school and the table would be covered with turtles. Last Christmas I looked up the recipe and made them for my sisters and my family. They loved them because I made them bigger than my mother did and because they brought back such great memories of my mom. They are the best and so was she.

My mother made these cookies every Christmas as I was growing up,.
for several years I was unable to find her recipe but finally discovered it in a Cook Off cookbook at the grocery store and was so elated.
this cookie is wonderful, not too sweet, moist and delectable

My Aunt Ann started bringing these to my family's Christmas gatherings once she married my Uncle. They were always my favorite as a child. After my grandma died the family began their own tradtions with their families and we didn't gather as often. Years later I mentioned to her how I loved these cookies and now each year she always makes them and sends a tin to me.

Son tried these at work for the first time and brought some home to see if I ever had them. Couldn't believe I knew what they were and where to find the receipe. Now they will be a part of our holidays every year. (and probably a couple times in between) Everyone loves them!!

I remember I helped my mother make these cookies in 1956. I never forgot them, they were so delicious. I found the recipe a few years ago while reading her collection of Pillsbury Bakeoff recipe books. I made them again and they were every bit as good as my memory.

This cookie was my favorite while growing up. My late mother made them every year for Christmas.
