slices bacon, cut crosswise into 1/4-inch strips

lb ground beef

cup chopped onion (1 large)

tablespoons chili powder

teaspoon ground cumin

cans (15 oz each) beans (great northern, kidney, black and/or pinto), drained, rinsed

can (18 oz) Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ fire roasted tomato cooking sauce
2
cups Progresso® chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)

  • 1 In 4-quart saucepan, cook bacon, beef and onion over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until beef is brown and onion is soft; drain.
  • 2 Stir in chili powder and cumin. Stir in beans, cooking sauce and broth. Heat to simmering, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low; cook about 15 minutes or until thickened.

I really didn't care for this recipe. It was a little bland, so I added some chili powder to make it taste better.

Um, this recipie is posted by a company which manufactures "processed sauces and broths", what did you expect? If you are looking for recipies with "fresh and seasonal ingredients" you are on the wrong website. Looks like a fine, fast dinner suggestion to me, served with Pillsbury Grands biscuits, of course...

Hey...I am all for easy. If it taste good then I say use it...I will try this recipe.

Using prepared and processed sauces and broths is despicable. Cooking should be with fresh and seasonal ingredients. Who knows what is in those products? I'm disappointed with you. Becky
