Expert Tips

Liquid smoke is exactly that--liquid mixed with smoke. It lends a smoky, hickory flavor to this bean stew. Look for it in the condiment aisle of the grocery store. If you like, you can omit it and the stew will still be tasty.

First off, I am not a bean eater so I am going by others who have eaten this stew. I have made this stew many times since the end of December and I always receive great compliments. My husband loves it and I just made a pot for him to take to work this morning and share with his co-workers. It is so easy to prepare and doesn't require a lot of ingredients. It is a keeper recipe!
