Slow-Cooker Smoky Barbecue Beef Sandwiches

These intensely flavored ground beef hoagies are astoundingly easy. Just add prepared sauces and a touch of chipotle chile.

lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef

cups barbecue sauce

cup teriyaki baste and glaze sauce

tablespoon finely chopped chipotle chiles in adobo sauce (from 7-oz can)

soft hoagie buns (6 to 7 inch), split
  • 1 In 12-inch nonstick skillet or Dutch oven, brown ground beef over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes or until thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Drain well.
  • 2 In 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix cooked ground beef and remaining ingredients except buns.
  • 3 Cover; cook on Low heat setting 4 to 6 hours.
  • 4 To serve, stir beef mixture. Spoon 1/2 cup beef mixture into each bun.
