Slow Cooker Pork Chops with Apple Chutney

Pork and apples have long been perfect partners. Dried cranberries add color and tartness.

I loved these! This is a great seasonal dish that we will be having in my home again. It's spicy and sweet and screams fall. This is not something that you will want once a week or even once a month but, when October rolls around this recipe will come out. I used boneless pork chops because they were on sale and the dish was delicious.

This meat was tender and delicious. I added extra cayenne for a little extra flavor. I should have listened to another review and added the apples later though. They were practically foam by the time everything was done.

My family loved this recipe. I used bone-in chops and seared the meat first before adding it to the pot. However, I would add a little more of the cider vinegar and add the apples 2 hours before the dish is done. My apples came out mushy. I also added a small box of golden raisins. I love the one pot idea. I will definitely make this again.

I thought this was a very good basic recipe. It was just a little too sweet for my liking. I will definitely make it again but with much less brown sugar.

Tried this and while the boneless center-cut chops I used were tender, it overall just wasn't flavorful enough--I would've liked it a bit sweeter with more ground ginger and cinnamon. I don't think the meat got the best benefit from the ingredients. I just felt like it needed something. I did include sliced up sweet potates with the apples and raisins, which worked great.

After reading the reviews, and the one writer said the chops were a little dry, I am going to try country ribs that have a little fat on them. I will let you know how they come out

The recipe is amazing. What great flavor. We loved it. I have given it to friends and they've loved it. Easy, one pot, and delicious. What more can you ask for.

I never write reviews on recipes, half the time I change it so it doesn't resemble the original. My family loved this dish, I have made it twice, each time using Granny Smith apples. The first time I cooked it on low for 4.5 hours and it was good, you had to use a knife on the pork although it was tender. The second time I cooked it on high for 4hrs, the meat was so tender it fell off the bone. Either way it was a wonderful, easy main dish. I highly recommend it.

I liked the ingredients for this recipe....everything about it looked like a home run. While the flavors were FANTASTIC, I do think two things should be suggested. First- I used Granny Smith apples and they were still mushy after being in the crock pot. I was looking forward to a little texture in this so I would recommend putting the apples later on, to retain some crispness. Second- I used very lean and thick boneless chops and the meat was a bit on the dry side. I would either reduce cooking time or use some cuts with more fat in them to get a moister chop. Other than that, great dish!
