This is our favorite chicken recipe. My only suggestion is to cut back the salt to about half of the recommended amount. It's great for burritos, tostadas, nachos... you name it. We usually cook double the recipe on low for 8 hours.

Do you cook this on a LOW or HIGH setting?

Great recipe! I also substituted boneless, skinless, chicken breast for the thighs. I must have missed what temp to cook it on & assumed it was "high"; which only took 3 hours! Very moist & tender chicken with great flavor! I served it with mexican rice & homemade salsa.

I made this on a cold, snowy day and it smelled wonderful cooking all day. The 10 cloves of garlic - you don't even notice them. I used skinless, boneless chicken breasts and it worked great - even tasted better the next day!

agree with Sally. I did it on the stovetop.

I'm puzzled on this site. Sometimes, as now, that the dish could be made in about 45 minutes without using the slow cooker all day. Half an hour to cook the thighs, meanwhile anything else in the process could be created. Let it blend a while and serve. No cooker pot to wash, just a pot to cook the chicken. No rolls or biscuits in here either.

This is VERY good. Probably my favorite slow cooker recipe! I made a couple changes: added about a scoop of cumin and used jalapenos from a jar because that's what I had on hand.. then served on soft tacos with the mexican cojita cheese. We eat it at least once a week. Delicious and easy!
