this turned out very good. liked the flavor. used thin cut round steak (couldn't locate flank steak) but you could even use a chuck roast. had to cook it longer, but will use leftovers in tortillas for lunch. will make again, but gonna experiment a little - add cumin and cilantro and cut back on the oregano.

the steak had no flavor. Was not a fan of this.

It is so great to find recipes that are appropriate for my 1-1/2 quart slow cooker. Reducing recipes meant for larger slow cookers just do not work well.

Very easy to make and yummy to eat. We doubled it and had it for dinner twice. Second day, my husband added in some re-fried beans in his. Definitely a keeper.

Easy and didn't need to make a run to the store. My husband is picky but loved this one. Might try adding a bit of chili paste and roll in tortillas next time or make a spicier rice. The plain rice made it taste bland. Would definitely make again. For those on the go, make a double batch and freeze 1/2 for a later date.

I read the review but masterkat never said if the meal was good!

I did print the recipe, but really, running electricity for 8 hrs and hand-shredding beef, to fill a TWO QT slow cooker? I'll adapt this for my 6 qt (yes, for the 2 of us!) and have a third for now, freeze rest in portions for a quick 'nuke whenever I've been out all day. No leftover halves of peppers, 1/2cans of beans either. FRUGAL HOUSEWIVES' TIP: When you have cartons of leftover white rice from Chinese takeout, make a recipe like this one & use it up. You just saved time--AND money!
