I used one can french onion soup instead of the water! Delicious. Also, omitted the potatoes in the crock pot cause of my large family(the chicken and veggies and liquids almost were too much for my 7 lb crock pot when doubling the recipe)...so I served the stew over creamy fresh mashed potatoes!!

With this recipe I tweaked it a little. Instead of the four cups of water i used 2 cans of Cream of Chicken soup, and Bone in chicken breast. The meat was so flavorful and tender it fell off the bone. I added a little cornstarch to the soup mixture when it got finished and it made a delicious gravy for the rice
