Delicious but I did add julienned carrots, a little garlic, chopped ham and salt and ground pepper to taste. I thought that the cheese and ham would give it enough flavor but needed to add more of the salt and pepper. Very easy and will definately make again. One of the best I've had!

This is a pretty good basic potato soup recipe. I suggest you add your own seasoning.I added ginger, basil, parsley, garlic salt, salt and pepper and it was very good.

Very good soup, but did add more cheese. A big hit at home.

Fabulous and EASY. Served it after the holidays and everyone from kids to great grandma loved it. We doubled the cheese. The bacon garnish and oyster crackers were a must! Those who like pepper added it to their tastes at the table.

I followed the receipe exactly and I thought it was not cheesy enough.... It was good, just too watery. I think Ill leave out the 1 cup of water and add a little more cheese.

I think that this recipe gets a bad rep. I followed the recipe except that I used Potatoes O'Brien and instead of milk I used organic heavy cream. It came out great! The soup thickened up when I added the milk and flour within 15 minutes. Also, of course this soup may not taste seasoned enough...that because you need to add the salt/pepper according to your liking! Overall, great and easy soup!!! Will make again.

This is almost identical to a recipe I have called "cheeseburger soup" - the only difference is adding a pound and a half of browned, lean ground beef. This gives the soup more protein and makes it more of a complete meal. If you want meatless, add Boca crumbles or another ground beef substitute. It's a family favorite
