EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Try cooking a 3-pound pot roast this way. It's just as delicious but not as rich as the short ribs.

Steamed baby carrots brighten up the plate. They also taste great with the sauce.

Serve in pretty shallow soup plates with a fork and spoon to get every delicious drop of sauce.

This recipe was quite easy and delicious. Not very big on salt, but should have added at least 1tsp of each season salt and basil.

I like getting these recipes but for the most part, they are so high in fat and carbs that I simply cannot in good conscience prepare them as written. I'm sure this is delicious, but won't be in my recipe file.

Feeding my family of five I found that enough short ribs for all of us was too expensive so I used a beef roast instead. I eliminated the bay leaves(do not care for the flavor) and used beef broth instead of wine. It came out very good. It made a really tasty gravy. Will make again.
