"original, all-purpose baking mix"??? What is this? A cake mix? If so, what type? Is it Bisquick? I won't use it so, does someone have quantities and ingredients for making my own? If I can make it from scratch, I'll give it 5 starts; if not, 1 star. For those who don't know what to use in place of bourbon - try a little bourbon extract, just not too much. Thanks. I'll check back for an answer.

This was delicious and so easy to make. My husband ate the whole thing by himself. :-)

What changes need to be made to the recipe to use the GF Bisquick?

Regarding the removable liner. I have an older type too and I use a clean coffee can that fits inside my crock pot. I follow the recipe directions and put the ingredients into my can that's inside my crock pot. I then cover the top of the coffee can with several sheets of paper towel to control moisture and put the crock pot lid on top and cook according to the directions. This is the old school way of making a liner when none is available.. Hope this helps. I have apricot brandy.. that would be nice with the banana bread.. Over the years I purchased one that fit my crock pot from Regal,

There needs to be a question forum for each recipe!
In response to "What can I substitute for Bourbon":
You should be able to use Rum, or rum flavoring.
You might try Brandy flavoring. I haven't seen 'Bourbon flavoring'. Of course, a whiskey might work. ...hmmm I wonder what Bailey's might do... Or Kahlua? like eating banana bread with a cup of coffee????
I'd try it and tell you, but my small crock pot doesn't have a ceramic removable liner. I imagine the larger crock pots would overcook the sides before the center was cooked enough. Sigh. Didn't there used to be some bake

3 hrs 40 mins = prep time + cooking time + cooling time + extra cooling time is around 3 hrs 40 mins + or - a few minutes

I'm a little confused. The total time is noted as 3 hrs and 40but the time noted in the steps is a maximum of 2 hrs and 20 mins. Which is correct please?
