Expert Tips

Do you like extra-spicy ribs? If so, add 1/2 teaspoon red pepper sauce.

If the ribs you purchase are on the fatty side, broil 3 to 4 minutes per side until browned, drain and then place in the slow cooker.

This was just "ok". The BBQ sauce was not at all thick. Next time, I think I will use the skinnytaste.com Kansas City bbq sauce recipe.

To Petetomcat. If your state has a Famous Dave's BBQ, you can find their great BBQ sauces in most grocery stores. My favorite is Rich and Sassy.

This is not a review I am just wondering why so many people don't follow the recipe exactly like it says and then they complain about it.??? Why change the recipe and expect it to be good.

My family loved these. I was worried about all the mixed reviews so I decided to follow the directions exactly and watch the time as I went. I took them off the slow cooker around 8 hours and they were perfect! I will be making these again.

The cook time is too long---I put a small amount of water in bottom of crockpot to cover the insert. I use bottled bbq sauce and add onions to the top of the ribs and cook for about 4 hours.
