I too love this soup. It is so easy to make and has a delicious bacon corn flavor. I usually make a soup Christmas Eve and I believe I will make this one this year.

has anyone left this soup in the slow cooker all day? I have a timer on my crockpot to be able to set it on low for 4 hours then it turns down to warm after that. Thanks!

I loved this soup. It came together very quickly and easily and was delicious. I am definitely making it again. Perfect for a cold winter night.

I thought this turned out really well and will make it again! Just a hint for those complaining about calorie counts..There are several websites out there and all you have to do is plug in the ingredients and magically it calculates it all for you in seconds! Probably as quick as leaving complaints.

this smells wonderful! Comments without experiencing this should be deleted! Not only did I not discard the bacon grease, I sauteed the onions in it. Even losing weight demands attention to flavor, and this recipe has many great levels of flavor. A special holiday comfort food as we get ready for snowflakes!

I, too, would have appreciated the calorie count and nutritional info for this recipe.

@artemisdiana: As for the garlic in the cooking sauce - you would never know it is there. Actually, the sauce is pretty tasteless. Does anyone have a homemade substitute for this sauce? If so, I would make this recipe; just not with the cooking sauce. And, I have not given it a rating, as I have not tried this recipe.

Did anybody actually TASTE it? Then STOP REVIEWING stuff you've never tasted!!! You give it a low star count and you've NEVER TASTED IT!! Why do you all have to be the nutrition police? Please let us decide whether it has too many fat/calories/etc, and then let those people who have actually eaten it review it. Or make whatever changes you're going to make, EAT IT, and then review it passing along your changes if you like. Thanks, but I can make my own choice whether to make it or not. I'm giving it 5 stars to counteract your one star, then I'm actually going to make it!

I think it looks great as is - no need to omit the bacon. save your calories someplace else and enjoy a good bowl of chowder. or subsitue real bacon bits and olive oil instead.

Swap out the bacon with turkey bacon and use reg corn instead of cream, skim milk. The potatoes will thicken the soup and the Creamy Roasted Garlic soup starter only has 70 Cal. So not to bad.
