These are so good. You can use four cans of pork and beans and leave out the black beans and the northern beans. Great with hot dogs and hamburgers too.

So easy and a definite crowd pleaser. Made it for the Fourth of July and I am also making it for a family reunion this weekend.

These beans are great, but to add a little bit more body to them just add 1/2 lb slightly cooked bacon and 1/2 lb cooked hamburger. really adds to the flavor of them.

Have made this 3 times - really love it. Last time, the sugar was reduced by one-half, was still good. Also, if you have digestive problems with beans, add 1 TB ginger at the beginning. Do not add more, adjust accordingly, if the amount of the recipe is reduced.

This recipe couldn't be easier- just dump a bunch of easy to find ingredients into your slow cooker, and walk away. A few hours later you will have the tastiest side dish- goes great with barbeque foods. Delicious!
