My 15-yr. old son couldn't get enough. Surprising, since he swears he doesn't eat onions and rarely eats carrots..;).

So easy! I don't understand what that one woman was complaining about.
I used italian style tomatoes and fresh onions.
It was easy and tasty!
Add a little garlic and it's yum yum!

Very good recipe. I did add mushrooms and used fresh onions instead.

Family did not like it because of it bland flavor, maybe the flour is what did it. There is another stew recipe on this site that I tried last week and most of us loved it. Thought I would try another variation. It took forever to prepare it, thawing the meat so I could coat it in flour and (brown it?). Didn't understand the point of doing so if it is a real slow-cooker recipe. Slow-cooker recipes are suppose to be tossed in to make it fast and easy (the slow-cooker is suppose to do the cooking). I guess I will stick with the other beef stew recipe.

This recipe is wonderful & easy to fix. I used regular sliced onions & added some extra spices for flavoring. I added the tomatoes near the end. I've made it several times & people always ask for the recipe.

I took this to my parents house with biscuits and homemade apple pie and everyone had seconds. This is a great dish when you can let it simmer all day.

Perfect for those cold days when cooking a meal seems a chore. This is absolutely the best stew recipe I have found! Also love the left-over factor for the days when too busy or worn out to want to cook!
