Slow-Cooked Chicken and Sausage Stew

This stew cooks slowly, slowly, for fabulous flavors. Add the green beans just before serving to preserve their vibrant color.

I was not thrilled about it, but the family thought it was great and even took the leftovers for lunch the next day. I will not make it again. maybe if i had used kidney beans instead of baked beans if i would have liked it better.

I picked this recipe to deal with some extra meats. I would not normally think this sounds good, the ketchup-mustard-baked bean combo doesn't appeal. So I am pre-biased against this recipe and sure enough, thought it was just kind of weird. My boyfriend enjoyed it and I think it was a good meal for him just coming back from ice fishing, he also ate all the leftovers and normally doesn't like leftovers! But to me it just wasn't the right combination of tastes.
