I made this recipe using the exact same ingredients except I used Kraft Hickory Honey Barbecue Sauce instead of the Sloppy Joe Sauce. I don't know if there's a recipe on this site for this, but I really enjoyed this.

I am not a fan of sloppy joes. My husband will be the first to attest to that fact for me. We have been together for 12 years, and I have never made them. He's mentioned it a time or two, or three or four, but I just couldn't do it, because I have never ever liked them. After he mentioned it again jokingly just before his birthday, I started researching ideas for a twist on the recipe and came across this one. I decided I would surprise him with it for his birthday. I had to put my own little twist on it, adding onion to the hamburger while it browned and cheesing it up just a bit more. I have

This was scrumptious and very easy! I'm vegetarian, so I used Boca crumbles instead of ground beef and it tastes great. I also put some Italian seasoning on the top before baking. Next time will try throwing in some green pepper or broccoli. Can't wait to take this to the next pot luck!

I made this into a pie, like the taco pie, and used only one can of reduced crescent rolls as the bottom crust. Pre-cooked it for about five minutes and then added the ground turkey. I also threw in a can of kidney beans, chopped red pepper and corn. Topped it reduced fat gruyere and cheddar. Glad I added the extra ingredients or it would have been too thin. They ate the whole pie. And there were only 3 of them. Guess I will be making again.

I was out of hamburger but had Italian sausage, so I made this pizza style - with sausage, pepperoni, spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese instead of the sloppy joe ingredients. My family LOVED it! They actually said they think they definitely would rather have the pizza version than the sloppy joe style. I also followed a reviewer's advice and cooked the bottom layer for a bit before I put the meat mix, cheese and top crescent layer on.

This was quick and easy, even my picky eater liked it. Next time I will add some corn or veggies & onions, then layer with some cheese.
