Directions

1 Heat oven to 350°F. Line 2 cookie sheets with foil. Cut cookie dough into 12 equal pieces. On floured surface, press 6 pieces to form 4-inch rounds, each about 1/8 inch thick. Cut 2 of the rounds in half. Press 2 pieces of dough to form 3-inch rounds. Cut remaining 4 pieces of dough in half; shape into eight 3x1 1/2-inch ovals.
2 For gingerbread boy, arrange dough on foil-lined cookie sheet as shown in diagram, using 4-inch rounds for body, 3-inch round for head and ovals for arms and legs.
3 For gingerbread girl, arrange dough on second foil-lined cookie sheet as shown in diagram, using 4-inch rounds for body, 3-inch round for head, ovals for arms and half rounds for skirt.
4 Bake at 350°F. for 13 to 17 minutes or until set. Immediately sprinkle with sugar. Cool 25 minutes or until completely cooled. Remove cookies from foil. Decorate as desired with decorating icings and candies.
