I made this recipe tonight and my husband and I both liked it very much. As I always do when I make a recipe for the first time, I followed the recipe as is. It is my habit to do that and decide how I need to tweak it the next time. This was one of those rare instances when I find no need to change anything. It is very simple and very satisfying. It's definitely a keeper. BTW, lillyloo20, it sounds like you cooked the pasta in the dish, rather than cooking the pasta first. If so, how did you like it? You mentioned it needed more liquid, which I will keep in mind if I decide to try that m

I forgot to add, you may need to add a little more water or liquid to cook the pasta till done. The sugar is for the acidity taste from the cans.

I have made this recipe for literally years. All of a sudden it is appearing everywhere. It's really a homemade Hamburger helper. It is a quick dinner, especially when you don't know what to have for dinner. Great recipe.

Very easy to make!! I used Ragu instead of the tomato paste and left out the diced tomatoes and it was still good. I also cooked it in a cast iron skillet and put the skillet in the oven for 15 min smotherd in chedder and mozzerella cheese until the cheese was melted. I didn't see the need to bake for 35 min when everything was already cooked. Everyone loved it. Will make it again for sure.

My guys loved this dish! I'll need to double the recipe the next time....and there WILL be a next time! I made it according to the recipe except I used fresh garlic and dried chopped onion. It was perfect and so simple to make.

I used 14oz spaghetti sauce rather than the tomato sauce, and fresh garlic instead of the garlic salt. It is AWESOME! Very easy, great flavor, and the PERFECT amount of moisture. A hit with my husband, and great for left-overs!
