I definately liked this. I made a few changes though. In mine I also put Italian seasoning in the hamburger then added the cooked pasta to the skillet and covered. Let simmer for 20-25 minutes till the liquid reduced then I put in the cheddar cheese and I added Parmesan cheese. Done. No need to turn on the oven and is even simpler. Just be sure if your using a 80/20 hamburger to drain the fat after cooking before adding the tomatoes, sauce, pasta and cheeses.

THE KIDS LOVE THIS We use colore pasta, the ones with the veggies in them but dont tell the kids lol, and make it like a casserole. Mix some cheddar cheese in to bind it together and the rest of the cheese goes on top. Pop it in the oven till the cheese is melted. It is awesome. The kids get their veggies and dont even know it!

My mother also made this and all of us have made a similar dish. We called it slop. Not an appetizing name but somehow it stuck. This is great if served the second day. I would wait to add the cheese until it is reheated.

My mom use to make something similar to this when I was growing up. She would add a can of corn and a can or two of olives depending on how many of us were eating. It was always good-sometimes if money allowed we'd get to have french bread as well along with a big green salad of home grown vegetables! Thanks, I haven't thought about this recipe in years.

I was looking for something to make with ground beef. To me this was excellent I used a can of rotelle instead of the diced tomatoes and only cooked in the over for 15 minutes then 5 after adding the cheese. Husband complained not enough beef otherwise he liked. Good recipe thank you finally something my husband likes again.

We love this recipe!!!!! It was sooo good. I've fixed it a couple of times & we've loved it. Its really good with a salad. I used a can of rotel instead of just plain diced tomatoes & it just adds alil kick.

I'm sorry, I forgot to rate the recipe in my post just now. BTW, lillyloo20, it sounds like you cooked the pasta in the dish, rather than cooking the pasta first. If so, how did you like it? You mentioned it needed more liquid, which I will keep in mind if I decide to try that method. But I wondered if the same baking time applies. Thanks. :)
