Savory Crescent Palmiers

tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
tablespoons yellow mustard
teaspoon onion powder


  1. 1 Heat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease cookie sheets with shortening. Sprinkle cutting board or waxed paper with cheese. Separate dough into 4 rectangles; firmly press perforations to seal. Lightly press dough into cheese.
  2. 2 In small bowl, blend mustard and onion powder. Brush rectangles with mustard mixture. Using 2 rectangles, place one rectangle, mustard side up, on top of the other. Starting with shortest sides, roll up both ends jelly-roll fashion to meet in center; cut into 8 slices. Repeat with remaining rectangles. Place, cut side down, 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
  3. 3 Bake 6 to 12 minutes or until deep golden brown. Gently recoil if necessary. Immediately remove from cookie sheets. Serve warm.
