oz. (1 cup) finely shredded Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese

cup Old El Paso® Thick 'n Chunky Salsa

cup chopped green onions

garlic clove, minced

teaspoon salt

teaspoon cumin

teaspoon lemon juice

cup olive oil

kaiser or burger buns, split

tablespoons Old El Paso® Thick 'n Chunky Salsa

  • 1 In large bowl, combine egg and cornstarch; beat with wire whisk until smooth. Add beans, bread crumbs, cheese, 1 cup salsa, onions, garlic, salt, cumin and lemon juice; mix well. Shape into five 3 1/2-inch patties.
  • 2 Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat until hot. Add patties; cook 14 to 16 minutes or until deep golden brown and centers are hot, turning once.
  • 3 Place patties on bottom halves of buns. Top each with 1 tablespoon salsa. Cover with top halves of buns.

This was the best veggie burger I have tried. The only thing I did differently was I made my own homemade salsa for it. Yum!
