I tried it with Progresso Chicken and Wild Rice instead of the pot pie soup and with garlic mashed potatoes and it came out really well!

If you like extra flavor add garlic, rosemary, onion, thyme, pepper, parsley, or any poultry spice blend to the soup as you heat it. Either a teaspoon or so each if using ground spices or a few chopped sprigs of fresh herbs.

I made this for my family, but used Grands biscuit top for the pie crust since that's what I had on hand. The mashed potatoes are quicker than a rue, but the instant potatoes gave it a dry and paste-like texture. Maybe a gravy packet/jar would give it better texture but still keep it quick? The Progresso soup is also a nice short cut, but the nutrition and bland flavor is the drawback there as others have mentioned. I sprinkled in rosemary, garlic, black pepper, and thyme for flavor.

I made this for myself and sent the second one to my parents. Was very good but I did change it up. I sauted portabella mushrooms and celery in butter (I can't Believe It's Not Butter) in a skillet over medium heat. I cooked a the equivilant of 2 chicken breast and shredded with a fork. I added the soup to the celery and mushrooms, mixed well. I used flour to thicken the mixture. Lastly I added the shredded chicken. Next time I think I would add some greenbeans (not a pea fan). I completed the remaining recipe as written. Looked wonderful, tasted good and was quick meal.

This is a great recipe...IF...you make your own roux and chicken. The trouble with the recipe as is, is the Progresso soup. It is too high in sodium and basically every Progresso chicken soup I have ever eaten has apparently used the toughest, stringiest birds on the face of the planet.

I used 2 cans of vegetable beef soup instead of the chicken pot pie soup. Also added a little more dry mash potato flakes to make the soup thicker and reduced the amount of vegetables. Came out very excellent with a bit of a twist.

I did not like this recipe, and neither did my family. I think the problem was the soup. If you do not like the taste of canned soup, this recipe is not for you. Also it had way too much veggies, and not enough chicken. It was also pretty dry.
