Like another reviewer I had never made a crostada or worked with almond paste so I'm sure if we can do it, anyone can! This made a beautiful presentation and turned out just like the picture. It wasn't overly sweet and had a very good flavor.

So easy, and so delicious! I should have made two for my book club...they are usually reluctant dessert eaters, but not this time! I am sure I will make this over and over. A winner, for sure. (Great with a good cup of coffee, too.)

This was absolutely wonderful! I made it tonight for a dinner party of 7 and everyone loved it (except one guest thought it was too bitter, though I didn't find it bitter at all.) It looks so elegant yet it was very easy to make, it is the perfect sort of thing to whip up to take to a dinner party. I've never made a crostada before or worked with almond paste, but it wasn't as difficult as I thought it might be, although I did run into a few bumps. I started out mixing the filling with an electric hand mixer but that didn't work very well. So I transferred it to a food processor and that worked out much better. Then, once I folded in the edges (after spreading the filling exactly 1 1/2 inches from the edge of the crust) I realized that I should have spread the filling a little further, like maybe 1 inch from the edge because the center turned out to be much smaller than in the picture. Then it didn't seem like 2 tablespoons of raspberry jam would fit in there so I only used one. But it was still absolutely delicious and I will definitely make it again. I think the chocolate and raspberry went very well with the almond flavor. It really is delicious, elegant simplicity and I wouldn't be surprised at all if it wins the Grand Prize at the Bake-Off.
