EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Use 1/2 teaspoon almond extract in place of the amaretto. Other fresh berries can be used to top these tarts. Blackberries, blueberries or even a mixture of seasonal berries are a delicious alternative to the raspberries.

Sprinkle the bottom of the tarts with finely chopped toasted almonds before filling. Use a fine-mesh sieve to dust the tops of the tarts with powdered sugar.

I was looking for the consistency of a cheesecake, but this was a little runny. It tasted good, but did not have a semi-firm texture that you normally get from a cheesecake. Perhaps using the regular creamcheese instead of the whipped would do the trick. I would not serve this recipe again.

I love this recipe! It is so easy yet looks and taste like an expensive restaurant dessert! If you need to impress a dinner guest this is the dessert to use!
