This is a great, but very old recipe. This can also be viewed as 'Shepard's Pie'. My mother made this for us on a regular basis, as a kid. Tried and true, and still a great staple in any household. The only variance is, my mother used to layer the ground beef, potato and cheese, alternately. One layer of ground beef, a layer of potato and a layer of cheese, and repeat the process until the pan is full, usually with the cheese on top to be browned in the oven. Great comfort food throughout the years to come, and unbelievably easy to prepare.
