I made this cake for New Years and it was a hit. I thought it would be a miss because of the popcorn, but the kids loved the popcorn and the adults enjoyed the licorice. The only thing I did different from the recipe was made a red velvet cake. I had just made the vanilla meatballs and spaghetti cake four days prior, so I didn't want to repeat a cake flavor so soon.
