Oh so glad that you have published this again. Like "judpoe" wrote, I've used this for 40+ years also. My husband recently asked for the recipe so that we could make it for the grandchildren and I haven't been able to find it. I believe the orginial recipe called for dried onion flakes.

I have made these for years. Got the recipe from a very old Pillsbury Cook-Off book. Since my kids were very young and they are now in their 40s. These have been a hit in my house and now theirs since then. Wonderful treat and my kids still ask me to make them for get togethers. The old recipe of course was with regular biscuits. Thanks for bringing them back for everyone to try. Your kids will especially love them. Finger food and a good after school treat or dress them up for dinner with a salad and veggie.

I make these but use diet bread (thin slices) as the base instead of the biscuits. Also I don't cook the beef first. Fill 12 cups with the meat mixture and place a small amount of cheese on top of each Bake at 375-20-25 minutes. Yummy

Anyone tried freezing and reheating these? Would love to have them in the freezer for a fast dinner or snacks for my college boys when they come home on weekends!

I made this when I first saw it published in the newspaper years ago and saved it in my recipe box. Some how it got lost/or disapearred as it was a favorite of my sons. Glad to see the recipe wasn't lost forever. I am sending it to all my boys now so they will have their own copy! Mary3c
