Pizza Party Calzone

Enjoy this cheesy calzone made using ground beef and Pillsbury® Refrigerated Wheat Homestyle Loaf – perfect Italian-style dinner to serve at a party.

Ingredients

cup chopped onions

(14-oz.) jar pizza sauce

(15-oz.) container part-skim ricotta cheese

oz. (3 cups) shredded mozzarella cheese

cup sliced green onions

teaspoon dried oregano leaves

(1 lb 1.4-oz.) cans Pillsbury™ Refrigerated Wheat Homestyle Loaf

oz. (3/4 cup) shredded fresh Parmesan cheese

teaspoon honey

  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. Grease 15x10x1-inch baking pan or spray with nonstick cooking spray; sprinkle evenly with cornmeal.
  • 2 Brown ground beef in large skillet over medium-high heat until thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Drain. Add onions, garlic and fennel seed; cook 5 minutes or until onions are tender, stirring frequently. Add pizza sauce; mix well. Cook 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
  • 3 Meanwhile, beat eggs in large bowl. Add ricotta cheese, 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese, green onions, basil and oregano; mix well.
  • 4 Unroll one can of dough onto flat surface. Cut dough in half crosswise. Slightly overlap longer edge; press firmly to seal. Press or roll dough to form 17x12-inch rectangle. Place over cornmeal in greased pan. Press dough in pan over bottom and up sides, overlapping sides of pan slightly.
  • 5 Spoon beef filling evenly over dough. Top with ricotta cheese mixture. Sprinkle with remaining 2 cups mozzarella cheese and 3/4 cup shredded fresh Parmesan cheese.
  • 6 Unroll second can of dough onto flat surface. Cut dough in half crosswise. Slightly overlap longer edge; press firmly to seal. Press or roll dough to form 15x10-inch rectangle. Place dough over filling. Seal edge firmly. Cut 2 rows of slits in top crust.
  • 7 Bake at 375°F. for 30 to 35 minutes or until crust is deep golden brown. Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine water and honey. During last 10 minutes of baking, brush honey mixture over crust; sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
