I preferred cutting the triangles into 4 and used mini sausages. Worked wonderfully and the boys could not get enough!

I never use the cocktail weiners sold in the stores, I don't like them. I've done this for more than 20 years, but I buy regular full size all beef hot dogs - cut them in half - and then wrap a half into each crescent roll. I serve them every year at my Christmas party for our friends and on other holidays as well. It is a perfect size and much better tasting than those ones sold as "cocktail weiners". I only eat all beef hot dogs, Nathan's and Hebrew National make the very best ones.

I have also used regular canned biscuits, just as good and cheaper than crescents. I have served with honey mustard or jams and jellies.

Great party snack! I cut each big triangle into 4 triangles, yielding 32 from a package. There isn't as much pastry per piglet, but they tasted great!
