Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 400º. Roll each sheet of puff pastry on very lightly floured surface into rectangle, 14x10 inches.
  • 2 Spread 1/2 cup of the pesto evenly over each rectangle to within 1/2 inch of long sides. Starting at 10-inch side, loosely fold pastry into roll; brush edge of roll with egg, then pinch into roll to seal.
  • 3 Cut each roll into 1/2-inch slices, using sharp knife. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.

Expert Tips

Finding it hard to squeeze in time to make both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners? Consider an appetizer alternative instead of the traditional sit-down holiday dinner. When planning your event, decide not only on the but also on what each appetizer will be served in. Set out dishes and serving utensils the night before. If you have a lot of appetizers or are having someone help you, label each bowl with the item that should be served in it. Remove the label before placing food in the dish.

Easy and great guest pleaser when pressed for time. A really good pesto is needed and when I have time I make my own. I found that just a light use of garlic lets the other flavors come through better making for a balanced taste.

delicous! fairly simple to make, just remember to defrost the dough! tastes like garlic twists, big crowd pleaser and excellent addition to any pasta dish
