These were SOOOO easy, & very good. I boght a box of mini-candy canes that were individually wrapped, and they crushed up in less than 2 minutes. Just put them on my cutting board, couple hits with the meat mallet, clipped teh end of the plastic & pored them into a bowl. Couldn't have been easier or quicker...made several dozen in less than an hour.

I made these yesterday..(13 dozen) and Im taking them to a cookie exchange today. I used the combo bag of red and green swirled mints. They look soooooo cute and my kids loved them. Such an easy a festive cookie to make!!!!!!

My daughter is 14 and loves to bake (not me) so I was looking for easy things for her. She made these today. They are so gooood. I have a question after they are cooled can they be frozen or put in the fridge to keep for a week. Thanks Stella

First, why do people who haven't made or tried things bother with a rating that starts with, "I haven't made these yet..."? It's a waste of time and a rating! Well, I DID make these last year and they were a huge hit with everyone. I made them exactly as the recipe stated and they are now part of my annual "baking list". They are so easy and delicious! I also put my own twist on them and used chocolate chip cookie dough, melted Hershey's chocolate mint chips, dipped cookies in those and sprinkled crushed Andi's thin mints on the melted chocolate. Those even went faster than the peppermint one

Put the candy peppermints in a bag then gently hit with a hammer

Instead of trying to crush peppermint candy, I resorted to buying a sizable container of already crushed candy. Much, much easier! I will be trying these cookies-they sound great!

I haven't made these yet but when I do I will probably just use my own favorite sugar cookie recipe and do as some others suggested and drizzle the melted chocolate instead of dipping. Will let you know the outcome once I make them.

Ingredient list doesn't say Flour or Oil....yet the recipe calls for both..misleading. Not nice!! If it is in there, add it to the ingredient list at the beginning!!!
