Peanut-Cereal Baseball Cake

Peanuts and peanut butter blend with kid-favorite Cheerios® cereal in this round cereal cake. Frosted with a baseball image, it's perfect for a team party or your favorite baseball fan.

Ingredients

cup light corn syrup

cup sugar

cup creamy peanut butter

cups Cheerios® cereal
1/2
cup coarsely chopped salted peanuts
1/2
cup vanilla creamy ready-to-spread frosting (from 16-oz can)

tube (0.68 oz) red decorating gel
  • 1 Line 8- or 9-inch round cake pan with foil; spray foil with cooking spray. In 4-quart nonstick Dutch oven, mix corn syrup and sugar. Cook over medium-low heat just until mixture boils. Remove from heat.
  • 2 Stir in peanut butter until smooth. Stir in cereal and peanuts until coated. Press mixture firmly in pan. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
  • 3 By lifting foil, remove cereal mixture from pan; remove foil. Place upside down on serving platter. Spread frosting over top. With toothpick, draw baseball pattern as shown. Outline pattern with decorating gel to resemble baseball.
