Peach Pie

Peach pie is traditionally considered a summer specialty, but this Ohio State Fair winning pie is equally good with frozen peaches so you can enjoy it year 'round.

Frozen peaches make it too juicy. Probably need more thickening. Best peaches to use are from S. Carolina. They hold their shape and don't seem to get mushy.

By far the BEST peach pie I have ever had..My family loved it. Used fresh peaches. Especially delicious warm with vanilla icecream! Will definitely make it again soon.

This sounds and looks great. I have never made a peach pie that was good, they were always runny when cut and the peaches mushy, so could some of you give me your take on whether or not you all used fresh or frozen peaches and if there is one brand or kind of fresh or frozen that is better than the other and the same with tapioka....Thank you for your help. Happy Baking Everyone!!!

I have made other fresh peach pies before, but this is by far the best recipe I have found. It is the perfect blend of tapioca and cornstarch in just the right proportions to give the pie a great consistency. I have made pies in the past that were too juicy, would just run onto the plate when cut, and would make the crust soggy. This peach pie holds it shape when cut, and the flavor is outstanding. I have made two of these in the past few days.

This was excellent. Only trouble was when I brushed the top with the peach perserves, it got burnt. Tasted great. Took it to work and it was gone in 10 minutes.
