oz. (2 2/3 cups) uncooked bow tie pasta (farfalle)

slices bacon

cup coarsely chopped red bell pepper

(9-oz.) pkg. frozen cut broccoli in a pouch, thawed (do not drain)*

teaspoons all-purpose flour
1/4
teaspoon salt
1/4
teaspoon pepper
3/4
cup half-and-half
1/4
cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese

  • 1 Cook pasta to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain.
  • 2 Meanwhile, cook bacon in large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet; drain on paper towels. Drain drippings, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon; set aside.
  • 3 Add bell pepper and thawed broccoli with liquid to drippings in skillet; cook 3 to 5 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring frequently.
  • 4 Stir in bacon and cooked pasta. Cook 3 to 5 minutes over medium heat or until thoroughly heated, stirring frequently.
  • 5 In small bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper and half-and-half; stir until smooth with wire whisk. Add to mixture in skillet; cook until mixture is thickened, stirring constantly. Stir in Parmesan cheese.

* To quickly thaw broccoli, cut small slit in center of pouch; microwave on HIGH for 2 to 3 minutes or until thawed. Do not drain.

Just as a tip the Carbonara sauce is usually made with egg as well. It makes it taste great.
