Ingredients

cups all-purpose flour

cup grated Parmesan cheese

tablespoon sugar

teaspoon baking soda

teaspoon dried sage leaves, crumbled

cup chopped fresh parsley

cups buttermilk
1/4
cup butter or margarine, melted

egg, slightly beaten

Directions

  1. 1 Heat oven to 400°F. Grease bottoms only of 12 medium muffin cups or line with paper baking cups. In large bowl, combine flour, cheese, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, sage and parsley; mix well.
  2. 2 Add buttermilk, butter and egg; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Divide batter evenly into greased muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
  3. 3 Bake at 400°F. for 15 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Immediately remove from pan. Serve warm.
