Directions

  • 2 Sprinkle 1 cup of the chocolate chips and 1 1/2 cups of the pecans over dough; lightly press into dough. Set aside.
  • 3 In 2-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Stir in brown sugar, caramel topping and graham cracker crumbs. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Pour over crust in pan; spread evenly. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 1/2 cups pecans.
  • 4 Bake 25 to 32 minutes or until edges are deep golden brown and pecans are lightly toasted. Cool on cooling rack 30 minutes; loosen sides from pan, but do not cut. Cool completely, about 3 hours longer. (For firmer bars, let stand an additional 2 hours.) For bars, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.

AMAZING!! I was concerned after reading some reviews. I made them last night and they were a huge hit today. No problems with it boiling over. Followed the recipe exactly. The sugar cookie dough did bubble up so they didn't look exactly like the picture but I wasn't concerned. I did let them sit overnight. No problems cutting or removing from baking dish. A must try for all.

Made these according to recipe for church pot luck. They went so fast I didn't even get one. Everyone wanted the recipe so I told them to log on and download!

We refer to these delicious and easy bars as "Fat Ladies" Our recipe is almost identical. We bake the cookie dough until just golden brown, sprinkle with the chocolate bits, whole pecans and finally pour melted Kraft Caramels that have been thinned with some heavy cream over the top. Cool and cut into squares or thin bars. A holiday favorite!

I didn't make these but I ate some. They were the best cookie bars I've ever had! The Baker substituted walnuts for pecans.

I made these bars and added coconut as the first layer before the chocolate chips and I did not use the graham cracker crumbs. These were so delicious and everyone loved them. So yummy!
