Ingredients

1: cup sugar

1: cup firmly packed brown sugar

1: cup margarine or butter, softened

2: eggs

2: cups all purpose flour

1: teaspoon baking powder

1: teaspoon baking soda

1: teaspoon salt

2: cups quick-cooking rolled oats

1: cup coconut

1/2: to 1 cup chopped nuts

Directions

1 In large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, margarine and eggs; beat well. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in oats, coconut and nuts. Divide dough in half. Shape each half into roll 2 inches in diameter; wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm.
2 Heat oven to 375°F. Cut dough into 1/4-inch slices. Place slices 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
3 Bake at 375°F. for 8 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets.

I have been making these for years and my family loves them. I am asked to make these all the time. Fabulous cookies. Some times I will add raisins or craisins. LOVE THEM!
