Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
  • 1/2 cup sunflower nuts
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 to 8 tablespoons cold water

Steps

  • 1
Heat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease cookie sheets with shortening or cooking spray. Place flour in medium bowl. With pastry blender or fork, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • 2
Stir in cheese, sunflower nuts, Worcestershire sauce. Sprinkle with water, 1 tablespoon at a time, while tossing and mixing lightly with fork until dough is just moist enough to form a ball when lightly pressed together.
  • 3
On lightly floured work surface, roll dough with rolling pin to 1/8-inch thickness. With lightly floured 2-inch Christmas cookie cutters, cut dough into desired shapes; place 1 inch apart on cookie sheets.
  • 4
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets. Serve warm or cool.

Tips from the Pillsbury Kitchens

  • tip 1
It's fun to make your own better-tasting crackers. Use other kinds of chopped nuts or let the kids sprinkle the tops with chili powder for a spicier version.
