I was disappointed! I made these for my 3 year son for a special treat for a picnic and I don't know if I did something wrong but the treats are about as hard as bricks. Unless they really soften up I don't think he'll be able to eat them. They were so chewy I was afraid that I was going to pull out a filling!

Correction: I added 1-1/4 cups of PB instead of 1 cup to the cheerios and 1/4 cup of pb to the chips.

First one was only ok--after that ---very addictive.
The taste takes care of the chocolate, salt, and sweet cravings all in one. Oh yeah, after all that Cheerios good for cholesterol contol!

I needed something to make for a potluck of mine. Everyone snapped it up and there wasn't much left. Very good, but a little on the sticky side.

Like one of the other reviewers, I have been using this basic recipe for many years, but with corn flakes most of the time. The first time I used Cheerios was when I discovered I didn't have enough corn flakes and my husband like them better. I haven't used the chocolate either, but chocolate is ALWAYS good! Just last week I bought some of the new chocolate Cheerios and made this recipe--they were great! Chewy and satisfying!

I have had these bars since I was a kid and now make them a lot for my family - we usually eat the entire pan in a day! Often, I make them with melted marshmallows and butter instead of corn syrup and sugar. They are great even without the chocolate.

I make these all the time, have made with cherrios but prefer them with cornflakes and I don't use the chocolate on them. They are great!
