These are delicious, BUT time consuming to cut all the little circles and prepare. So after making eight, with the leftover filling (I doubled recipe) I filled small soufflé pots and covered with the remaining dough. Little stout pot pies. Delish!! Also, the next time I make these I am going to use beef stew meat and add small diced potatoes.

What can you exchange the beer or whiskey for, in recipes?

I made these last night. We love potatoes in our house, so I added a medium potato, cut in very small cubes, to the mix while it was in the frying pan. Worked out to be just enough and super delish! Will make these again, probably for a gathering so I can show off my skills!!! Pillsbury makes it easy!!

I was disappointed in this recipe. I found the thyme and stout beer flavors to be overwhelming. Next time I would use beef broth instead of the beer and cut the thyme in half.

Made these last night. The only changes I made were to use frozen peas and carrots (1 C) instead of the frozen peas and fresh carrots called for in the recipe, and 6 oz. of beef tri-tip cut into small cubes (about the size of the carrots) instead of hamburger. I kept everything else the same -- spices, other veggies, pie crust, size, etc. These were completely yummy! I'll definitely be making these again.

Made this tonight in a big hurry.... left it all in the fry pan for baking. Used 8 oz of beef, spring onions, a frozen veg combo of peas, carrots, string beans, no pie crust so I used Grand Jr. flaky biscuits and they were too much bread; however, we thought it was tasty and quite good. Another time and there will be one, I'll go for the pie crust.

This is so good! I didn't use ground beef, used with 'chuck tender steak' pounded and cut in cubes. Next time I'm eliminating the sugar. Also, I cut squares and folded them in triangles.

If you are really in a hurry, just use a can of your favorite beef stew for the ingredients. Yummy...
