Made these for an office party and they were gone in minutes. Everyone raved about them. I cut 3" rounds and it made 12. Very yummy. Making more tonight for another event!

I really liked this and didn't find it difficult. Because Almond paste generally comes in a can (easily found in isle with baking supplies) and there's a lot extra I just found some other recipes that use almond paste and that took care of the extra! A little orange zest would definately be a bonus - too bad I didn't see the review before I made it!

Was a little skeptical about the almond paste, but wow was I pleasntly surprised! I added a pinch of orange zest. If you don't have the cranberries, tart cherries would be good too. After reading more of the comments, I was thinking of other fillings...peach with mascarpone, cream cheese with cheddar and dill, Ooohh or lox! This is a 5 star, but I clicked the wrong star, and it won't let me change it.

You can partially precook your cranberries ahead of time with honey and then drain the berries to reduce the syrup running out of the shells in the oven. This will reduce the baking time slightly. Also, try sprinkling the pastries with finely chopped candied ginger before baking. Lovely combination with the cranberries!
Also, another suggestion that I tried was using puff pastry shells instead of pie dough which worked pretty well for a different presentation.

Whole Foods has the Almond Paste... about $6. It comes in a 7 oz tube, brand name "Odense".

Almond paste is in the isle where you find cake mix, usually by the nuts and mini chocolate chips, it comes in a can & also a tube in a box

Sounds very good and i will make it, but as a diabetic, i will try using agave syrup instead of the honey since it does not raise your blood sugar and is lower on the glycemic index.

I want to make this recipe for my family this friday but I can't find the almond paste. Where can you get it?

Made for a pre-Advent social. Everyone wanted the recipe. I prefer my cranberries tart. Next time I'll either skip the honey or the Marzipan (almond paste). Your picture looks a little better than mine did, but they still tasted good. Will make again.
