Mini Cheesesteak Sandwiches

Have these mini sandwiches ready in just 20 minutes! French baguette topped with beef steaks and mozzarella cheese - broiled to cheesy perfection.

Ingredients

(20-inch) French bread baguette

teaspoon olive oil
2
garlic cloves, minced
1/2
lb. beef sirloin sandwich steaks (1/4 inch thick), cut into strips
2
small onions, halved, sliced
1
small green bell pepper, cut into strips
1
teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1
teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/2
teaspoon salt

(1 1/2-oz.) slice mozzarella cheese, cut into 8 strips
  • 1 Cut V-shaped wedge from top of baguette the length of loaf. Set top wedge and loaf aside.
  • 2 In large nonstick skillet, heat oil and garlic over medium-high heat until oil is hot. Add beef, onions and pepper strips; cook and stir about 4 minutes or until pepper strips are crisp-tender. Stir in oregano, basil and salt; cook and stir 1 minute.
  • 3 Spoon beef mixture into loaf. Top with cheese strips. Place loaf on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 4 Broil 4 to 6 inches from heat for 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.* Place top wedge of bread on loaf; cut into 6 pieces. If desired, serve with hot pepperoncini salad peppers.
