What could you use instead of raspberries? Can it be made without any kind of fruit in the middle?

This recipe was wonderful! Very easy to do. The little raspberry in the middle is a "secret surprise". Great recipe for those times when you have a few friends coming over and need a light dessert. Just the right size. This one I'm keeping.
