I made these cookies with the red hots. I used a "slap chop" to chop them. I thought they were very good. My boyfriend loved them also. I will definitely make them again.

I made these twice in one week. The first time I made them without the chili powder, and cooked them a bit too long. In spite of that, they were DELICIOUS! I did use the Hot Tamales and cut them in half. They were quite chewy and probably wouldn't have been as good with the red hots.

They turned out beautifully. I originally bought the red hot candies, but went back and bought Hot Tamales after reading the recipe more carefully, calling for 'chewy' candies. After seeing the other reviews, I may use the red hots for my next batch.

I made them today and I used red hots, they turned out pretty good actually. I am going to make them again and try hot tamale candies this time.

The original picture looked like they were using Hot Tamales candy.

These sound wonderful, but are we talking "red hots", or gum drops?
