EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes can be substituted for the 28-oz can of whole tomatoes.

Use a kitchen scissors to break up the tomatoes.

Serve with crusty thick-sliced Italian bread. For added zing, coat slices lightly with olive oil, sprinkle with Italian herbs, and toast lightly under the broiler.

My husband and I love this recipe and have served it to several different guest. They have all wanted the recipe. I did change the pasta to Tri-Color Rotini and cook it for 1 minute less. I would serve this to anyone. Great!

Wow! It was sooo good! And my hubby can be persnickety when it comes to "skillet dishes"...added some Parmeson at serving time..pasta had such a wonderful taste!! And only three spices! This will be a new family fave! Not expensive to make at all!

I really liked this. Did make some changes - no mushrooms on hand, turkey sausage, and with rotini in the cupboard I used that instead of mostaccioli. I did not think I would like the tomatoes but they softened nicely, and I chopped them up quite a bit. I would make this again, it was a nice, filling pasta. Nice to make it all in one dish!

Prepared with the exact ingredients called for in this recipe, it is outstanding and nothing needs to be adjusted or altered. My family loved it!

My husband & I enjoyed this recipe. I added some garlic and a can of tomato sauce to give it more sauce. I will be making it again. A good winter pasta dish.
