Mac and Cheese Topped Sloppy Joe Casserole

box (7 oz) Betty Crocker™ mac & cheese original
Margarine and milk called for on mac & cheese box
1
lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1/2
cup sliced green onions (8 medium)
1
can (15.5 oz) sloppy joe sauce
1/2
cup shredded Cheddar-Monterey Jack cheese blend (2 oz)

Directions

  1. 1 Heat oven to 350°F. Make mac & cheese as directed on box.
  2. 2 Meanwhile, in 10-inch skillet, heat beef and green onions over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in sloppy joe sauce. Cook 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly heated.
  3. 3 Spoon mixture into ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Spoon mac & cheese evenly over meat mixture. Sprinkle with cheese.
  4. 4 Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and mixture is hot.
