Lively Lemon Tingler

Cooking sugar and water together creates a simple syrup that keeps the beverage uniformly sweet, without the sugar sinking to the bottom of the glass.

Ingredients

cups sugar

cup water

cups fresh lemon juice (about 8 lemons)

cups ginger ale, chilled
  • 1 In small saucepan, combine sugar and water; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; cool to room temperature.
  • 2 Add lemon juice; stir to blend. Store base mixture in tightly covered nonmetal container or jar in refrigerator.
  • 3 For each serving, in tall glass, combine 1/2 cup chilled base mixture and 1/2 cup ginger ale. If desired, add ice.
